I Tried Every Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer so You Don't Have To.

Girl holding coffee creamer

I seem to be on this eternal quest to create the perfect Pumpkin Spice Latte (aka PSL) at home. Maybe it's because I'm a barista at heart (I'm the proud owner of a Jura E8 Espresso machine, which gives me life), or that I can't justify spending over $5.00 at Starbucks to get my daily fix, but I've been obsessed with everything PSL as long as I can remember!

Last Sunday I was making my usual rounds at the Targét and saw that they had a huge display of pumpkin spice coffee creamers to choose from. Now, I know what you're thinking. How can one person possibly determine which is the superior pumpkin product to purchase?.. Don't worry, I got you!

My friends tell me I have something called the "too much" gene. I don't know what the hell they're talking about. Anyways, 30 minutes later, and I was the proud owner of 4 different types of pumpkin coffee creamer. I took them home, fired up the Jura, and tried them all for you, so you don't have to. Commence the battle of the PSLs!

First up is the Silk Pumpkin Spice Almond Creamer. That's right, we're being inclusive of our lactose-intolerant babes on this blog. I really don't mind almond milk at all, and it's actually my alternative milk of choice in lattes. From the moment I cracked open the lid on this baby, I knew it was a winner. It smells exactly like pumpkin pie! It has the sweetness factor that is crucial for any PSL, but also a hint of nutmeg that really allows the creamer to blend seamlessly with the flavor of the coffee. I give this creamer 4/5 stars!

Next is the Califia Farms Pumpkin Spice Almond and Coconut Creamer. Okay, so this creamer can return to the expired medicine cabinet from whence it came. Where do I start? Okay first- the product separation. No matter how hard I shook the bottle, I could NOT get the contents inside to mix together. There was a permanent layer of what I can only assume to be the "spice" settled at the bottom, which tells me this ingredient was added way beyond the product's saturation point (wow, I'm so glad Chem101 prepared me for the blog-writing world). And the taste... I imagine that if they came out with a Pumpkin Flavored Cough Syrup, this is exactly what it would taste like. There is absolutely no sweetness factor to this one at all, and it's just overall very unpleasant. I'm all for natural products, but this one gets a 1 star rating from me. The only positive about this product is that the bottle gives me some serious #bodyinspo.

After nearly dying from the last "natural" creamer, I was nervous to try our next contender, CoffeeMate Natural Pumpkin Spice Coffee Creamer. To my surprise, this one did not taste like cough syrup. However, that's really all I can say about it. It's wasn't bad.. but also not great. Kind of like that one dress you keep in our closet "just in case." It's like, just in case for what? You feel like mediocracy? Same with this creamer. If I was on a desert island and only had this creamer to choose from, I would be okay (well, as long as that desert island also had Netflix and Wifi), but there are better options out there. I give this one a 3/5 stars. By the way, if you're looking for a dress to replace your "just in case," check out our very pumpkin-esque Sienna Sunset Velvet Bodycon Dress.

Finally, last but certainly not least, is the International Delight Pumpkin Pie Spice Creamer. Buy. This. Creamer. I repeat-- BUY THIS CREAMER. I can't believe I haven't heard anyone talking about this product before, but it tastes amazing! Sweetness factor? Check. Authentic pumpkin favor? Check! I even made myself a second cup, using my Handheld Milk Frother to get a nice foam going on the creamer before stirring in the coffee. It's truly the PSL Prince I've been searching for all my life. I happily give this creamer a 5/5 stars, and dub it the winner of this PSL Showndown!

I wanna know! Have you tried these coffee creamers? If so, which one was your favorite? Make sure to pick them up before they're gone until next year!
